One of our Core values at Atonement is "Joy", and worship is definitely a place where you'll see that value lived out. There's a sense of excitement and eagerness when the people gather for worship, and it's not uncommon for there to be a little laughter as well!

We offer two distinct worship services on Sunday mornings. The Traditional service is liturgical, and somewhat informal. A wide variety of music is used, ranging from traditional hymns, to ethnic and modern songs. The Contemporary service is very informal and is led by a worship team. The music at this service is predominantly songs composed within the last ten years for guitar, keyboard and of course, vocals!

We frequently have sermons that are linked together into a several week series, which gives us time to explore various themes and topics in more depth. Topics have ranged from life issues to theology to personal growth. All throughout, we emphasize first the incredible Love of God for us in Jesus, and then the call to stretch and grow as disciples and servants in the world. We really believe that faith is an exciting, joyful adventure! That's why worship is such a celebration for us.

Our congregation is uncommonly blessed with worship leaders. Our staff include an amazing accompanist who really knows how to lead the congregation's singing, a gifted and experienced director for our Senior Choir, and a published and much sought-after contemporary worship coordinator! In addition, we have a whole group of lay people who help to lead worship in prayer and song. As they say; "Worship: it's not just for pastors anymore!"

All year long we offer one worship services on Sunday mornings. This is a blend of The Traditional liturgical service and Contrmporary service forms. There are modern and traditional hymns coming from a variety of sources, such as Vineyard Music Group, Hosanna!, The Lutheran Book of Hymns and original compositions as well as anthems from our senior choir.
A worship team leads the service with singers backed by bass, drums, guitar and keyboard. Our congregation is exceptionally blessed with musical talent.


During the summer months (Memorial Day to Labor Day) we maintain the same general format of worship as the rest of they year, but the style may have more variety.
During the Summer for 2008 we are experimenting with an informal Wednesday eveniing service. See our home page for the time.

• Lifestyles of the Rich in Faith - Learning from the stories of people of great faith in the Bible
• Soul Food Sundays - What is Holy Communion all about?
• Mending Broken Hearts - Isolation, Anger, Anxiety, Aimlessness, Shame, Grief and Apathy.
• Living a Life of Joy - Practical advice for life from Paul's letter to the Philippians.
