Council Meeting Minutes
Atonement Lutheran Church
7:00pm
Attendance: Tony, Nancy, Joe, Kay, Pastor Tim and Steve
Vice President Steve opened with a prayer.
Property Team submitted Church Policy forms for approval from Council. Members are to read and comment to Tony by January 27th.
The Property Team reported that the Sanctuary will be repainted Jan. 17th-25th. Pastor Paul has been notified .The funds are coming from the Boutique sale.
Business:
The December Council minutes were approved as read.
President Tony reported that he accepted Nita Nelson’s resignation from Council effective December 31, 2004.
Action Item: President Tony instructed Council members to inform their Teams to put their meeting minutes in the Congregational Book on the shelf by the phone in the Narthex.
Pastors will guarantee payment of the negative amounts under the Council funds.
Nancy reported that facility rental fees will help with the total income for the budget.
Joe questioned the Benevolence, how to increase the total and make it part of a bigger picture. He was asked to confer with the Charitable giving team to come up with some suggestions and Council will revisit this later.
The balanced Budget was presented and accepted by Council to be presented at the Congregational Meeting.
Tony proposed that Ed and Royce audit the Treasure books before the Congregation Meeting on January 23rd. Motion passed. Steve will be checking with Royce, Ed and Cheryl Lee to see if this can be done before the Congregation Meeting.
Congregation Meeting:
Karen and Cheryl will be there to answer questions on Finance. Steve will present the Budget and will take questions. Joe volunteered to have a computer and overhead projector ready to assist. With visual. Council will provide beverages, Steve will be in charge of cleanup, Nancy will take care of child care. The meal is potluck.
Tony closed the meeting in group prayer.
