“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want” – Psalm 23:1

The world is in want.  In the country of Zambia 16% of the population suffers from HIV.  In Russia the average man consumes an entire pint of vodka every other day.   These people live in deep need.  It is what the psalmist describes as want (psalm 23).

Christ offers a shinning light amidst this dreary landscape.  Where despair seems unavoidable he brings a bright and brilliant hope.   He offers to be our Shepherd through a dark and perilous world, to give us a joy that surpasses all wanting.

 This summer God is giving me a chance to bring this message to the world.  He is sending me to the impoverished of Kitwe, Zambia and the hurting of Pyatigorsk, Russia.  I want to invite you to join with me.

When I traveled to Kazakhstan in 2003 God taught me a lot about the hardships and rewards of overseas ministry.  He used the generosity of this congregation to make that journey possible.

I believe 2003 was a summer for God to disciple me.  I am praying that 2005 will be a summer for God to disciple others through me.  I want you to be a part of it.
