The Charitable Giving Team Message

For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11

Welcome to Worship

We’re delighted to worship with you today at Atonement!  Please stay for refreshments and fellowship after the service. (If you’d like to learn more about our congregation, that’s the best place to start!)  We also invite you to visit our Web site at www.Deliver4Jesus.org, pick up a copy of our current newsletter at the guest book table, and be sure to get a copy of our Mission and Vision statements from the information desk.

Adult Education discusses the Exodus Experience: from Slavery into Freedom

From Sunday, February 21, until Sunday, March 28, please join your fellow adult learners in a six-part study of the Exodus story. Coinciding with a midweek, Lenten worship sermon series, we will move through the first half of the book of Exodus exploring themes of slavery and freedom, community, God’s reaction to the problem of human suffering, and from death into life. Class meets in the Green Room from 8:45-9:30 am and the only text required will be the Bible.

To be prepared for discussion, here are the weekly assigned readings:

February 21 – Genesis 50.22 through Exodus 1

February 28 – Exodus 2-3

March 7 – Exodus 4-5

March 14 - Exodus 6 – 7.13

March 21 – Exodus 7.14 – 11.10

March 28 – Exodus 12-14

Popcorn fundraiser this morning!

The young people of our church are selling popcorn today.  Buy some to eat at church, and buy some to take home and eat during the big game!  The money raised will help offset the cost of youth events.  Upcoming events include the annual Presidents Day weekend ski trip.

Thank you from all the young people at Atonement.

St. Philip’s Disaster Relief Lasagna Dinner & Sealed Bid Auction

On Sunday, February 21 the St. Philip’s Disaster Relief (SPDR) team will hold its Third Annual Lasagna Dinner. Seating will be at 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. in the St. Philip’s Fellowship Hall. Lasagna, salad, breadsticks, dessert, and beverages will be served.
Tickets will be sold only in advance and are available in the narthex this morning. They are also available in the St. Philip's church office (763-571-1500) through February 12th.  Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.
Auction items include assorted gift baskets, computer accessories, power tools, electronics, kitchen appliances, lawn games, and more. Bidders need only make a single bid on an item. In the week following the auction, the bids will be reviewed and the high bidder will be contacted to make arrangements for pick up of the item.
Proceeds from the dinner and the auction will ensure that the journey continues for the St. Philip’s Disaster Relief outreach and will be used for things such as gas and lodging for relief trips, building materials, supplies, equipment, and donations to organizations assisting in relief efforts.
Nellie Landrus has been a member of several SPDR mission trips during the last two years, and is planning to return with the team to Galveston TX in April 2010. Greg Hanson and Peter Landrus have also gone on SPDR mission trips to help natural disaster victims. Our heartfelt thanks for your continued financial and prayer support.
