ANNOUNCEMENTS
August 3, 2008
Welcome to Worship
We’re delighted to worship with you today at Atonement! Please stay for refreshments and fellowship after the service. (If you’d like to learn more about our congregation, that’s the best place to start!) We also invite you to visit our web site at www.Deliver4Jesus.org, pick up a copy of our current newsletter at the guest book table, and be sure to get a copy of our Mission and Vision statements from the information desk.
On-Call Pastor through August 10
Pastor David Watson, from Roseville Lutheran, will the on-call pastor while Pastor Tom is on vacation. The phone number for Roseville Lutheran Church is 651-487-7752. If you call when the office is not open, listen to the prompts to reach the emergency pastor.
Wednesday Evening Worship
To give people the opportunity to stay plugged in at Atonement this summer, we will be having a Wednesday evening worship service every Wednesday from June 4 through August 20th. Worship will begin at 7:00 PM. On Wednesdays August 20th, we will be having a potluck meal beginning at 6:15 PM with worship to follow.
Sunday, August 10 Worship
Next Sunday, John Bermel will deliver the sermon. He is a student at Luther Seminary and was a police officer in Apple Valley for 23 years. Because he is not ordained, Holy Communion will not be served on August 10.
Atonement Saints Softball Team will play for consolation winner!!
Yes, your Atonement Saints continue on. They will play for consolation winner next Thursday, August 7 at 6 p.m. at Hansen #3. Last Wednesday our team showed up along with 9 fans, unfortunately, the umpire and the other team were not there – they had forfeited.

ISAIAH NE Caucus Meeting at Atonement August 7 @ 7 p.m.
Gas prices go up, bridges fall down,
We need better ways to get around town.
Congested highways and air pollution,
Join “ISAIAH” to help find a solution.
School Supplies Drive
Every child should have
adequate school supplies to start the new school year off right. However,
not all families in our community can afford them. Our two local food
shelves, Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA) in Columbia Heights
and Ralph Reeder Food Shelf in New
Brighton distribute school supplies to
needy children. Items especially needed include backpacks (watch for
sales on backpacks), folders, wide-lined notebooks, glue sticks, and
3-ring binders.
Please consider making a donation in the big, colorful box in the entry
(thank you Karen and Alex Ochu for the decorating!). The last day for
donations is Wednesday, August 13. Thank you from the kids!!
