Relational Small Groups (Launched fall 2002 and growing) The small groups meet for a specified period of time for two primary reasons: 1. Building relationships through Christian community 2. Accomplishing a mission The types of groups are Study, Service, Support, Seeker, Situational, or Social. No matter the type of focus of the group, there are five key elements that happen whenever a group meets: Community building, Bible Study, Service, Prayer, and Fellowship. Some activities may receive more attention during one meeting time than others. Depending on the type of group, others may happen only a few times during a year. For instance, a discipleship or Bilble study group may engage in a service activity two or three times a year: however, a service group may serve everty time it meets, since the act of serviing defines the group's purpose for meeting. |
